Privacy Policy

Last updated November 7, 2026

Measure App does not collect your personal data. It has no user accounts, no servers, and it makes no network requests of any kind. Nothing you measure, photograph or save ever leaves your device.

This policy covers the Measure App iOS application (the “app”) and this website (getmeasureapp.com), both published by Arron Mecwan (“we”, “us”). The first part is about the app. The second part is about the website. By using the app or the website you agree to this policy.

The short version

  • There is no account to create and no way to sign in.
  • The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party SDKs.
  • The app makes no network requests. It does not talk to any server, ours or anyone else’s, at any point.
  • We operate no servers and hold no database of users.
  • Everything the app produces stays on your iPhone or iPad until you choose to share or delete it.
  • The website uses no cookies and no analytics, and its free tools run entirely in your browser.

Part 1: The app

Device features the app asks to use

iOS asks your permission the first time each of these is needed. You can change your mind at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security, or in the app’s own entry in the iOS Settings app. Declining a permission turns off only the feature that needs it.

  • Camera. Used by the augmented-reality tools to measure distance, height, angles and area, and to make floor plans. Camera frames are processed live on your device by Apple’s ARKit framework so the app can recognise surfaces and track points in space. The app does not record, save or transmit the camera feed. The only images kept are photos you explicitly choose to save.
  • Motion and orientation sensors. Used by the bubble level and inclinometer, and to keep AR measurements stable as you move. Readings are used in the moment and are not recorded or transmitted. Your level calibration is stored on the device as three numbers.
  • Photo library (add only). Lets the app save a measurement photo or an exported report to your library when you ask it to. This level of access does not let the app read, browse or import your existing photos, and it does not.

The Stud Finder also reads the device’s magnetic sensor to sense nearby metal. iOS does not ask permission for this sensor. Its readings are used in the moment and are not recorded or transmitted.

What the app stores on your device

All of the following is written to the app’s own private storage on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere:

  • Your preferences, such as units, language and haptics.
  • Your bubble-level calibration.
  • Measurements, photos, notes and floor plans that you save.
  • A count of completed measurements, used only to decide when the app may offer you the option to rate it.

Deleting the app removes all of it. Because none of this data reaches us, we cannot recover it for you afterwards, so export anything you want to keep before deleting the app.

Subscriptions and payment

Measure App Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see, receive or store your card number, billing address or any other payment detail.

The app asks Apple’s StoreKit framework, on your device, whether you have a valid subscription, and unlocks features accordingly. Apple gives us aggregate sales and subscription reports that do not identify individual customers. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, not this one.

Information the app does not collect

The app does not collect, and we do not receive, any of the following: your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, location, contacts, IP address, advertising identifier, usage analytics, crash reports, diagnostic logs or biometric data.

We do not sell, rent, share or trade personal information, because we do not have any. The app does no cross-app tracking and does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.

Security

What the app stores is protected by your device’s security, including iOS app sandboxing and, where you have set a passcode, Apple’s file encryption. Because nothing is transmitted or held on a server, there is no server-side data to breach.

Part 2: This website

What stays in your browser

Two settings are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device only: your light or dark theme choice and, if you use it, the online ruler’s card setting. They are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

What our host logs

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We don’t use this information to identify you.

Links and the App Store

Links to the App Store and to official sources take you to other websites with their own privacy policies. The App Store button and QR code are plain links: they load nothing from Apple until you tap them.

If you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. We don’t add you to any list. Ask us at any time to delete your emails.

Children

The app and the website are suitable for general audiences and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Canada’s PIPEDA and Australia’s Privacy Act give you rights over personal information a company holds about you, such as the right to access, correct, delete or move it, or to object to how it is used. Those rights are fully available to you. In practice we hold no personal information about you, beyond any email you send us, so there is usually nothing to disclose, correct or erase. If you think we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond. Users in the EEA and UK can also complain to their national data protection authority.

International use

The app and website are operated from the United States and available worldwide. Because the app transmits no data, using it involves no international transfer of your personal information.

Measurements are approximate

All measurements and results from Measure App, in every tool, and from the free tools on this website are approximate estimates and may not be accurate. Always use proper measuring tools alongside them and check before you rely on a result. Our Terms of Service explain this in full.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app or website changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that needs data we don’t use today. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. Any change that collects new data will be described here before the feature ships. Using the app or website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
